Veteran's Day

Dear Kailee & Grayer,

Veteran's Day was two days ago, but I wanted you to know that we have some great men in our family who served and are serving our country.

Of course you know Uncle Peter. He is currently serving in the Utah Air National Guard.

This is your Great Great Uncle Charles Dusell, whom we call "Chick." (Grayer, this is where Grandpaul got your nickname.)

This is your Great Great Uncle Bud. Both he and Uncle Chick are your Great Grandma Gilbert's brothers.

And these pictures are of your Great Grandpa Gilbert (my Grandpa). He was a Marine during WWII and saw action in Guam and Iwo Jima.

And this is Grandpa with his Marine friends.

Your Great Grandpa Gale also fought in WWII. We live in a great country and we are blessed to enjoy many freedoms.

Yes, I repeat, men may fail, but this nation won’t fail. I have faith in America; you and I must have faith in America, if we understand the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are living in a day when we must pay heed to these challenges.

I plead with you not to preach pessimism. Preach that this is the greatest country in all the world. This is the favored land. This is the land of our forefathers. It is the nation that will stand despite whatever trials or crises it may yet have to pass through."
