On Sunday we blessed Grayer. He was originally going to wear the outfit that Kody was blessed in. I tried it on him to make sure it would fit his chunky little body and although it fit, Kody said he looked like a little girl in it. It was a man blouse. So we elected to put him in his regular Sunday-go-to-meetings.
Sunday morning when we were getting ready for the blessing, Kailee found a stuffed rooster and said "Wook Mommy, a Wooster!" I said, "Yep, cock-a-doodle-doo!" to which she replied disgustedly, "Cock-a-doodle-don't!"
Sunday night she and Kody camped in the backyard. She talked about their campout all week long and was very excited for it.
Saturday night was the big day Kody had been looking forward to all year. Alabama had their first game and we had a party. I didn't get pictures of the kids in their Crimson Tide apparel but here are some of Kailee modeling Uncle Pete's BCG's from basic training:
The kid wouldn't hold still.
Also, last week Grayer started to get fussy right in the middle of me trying to get dinner ready. He was being clingy and just wanted to be with me so I grabbed sister's pink bumbo and plopped him in it on the counter where he could watch me. Apparently it was very comfortable because a few minutes later I looked over at him and this is how I found him:
The poor little buddy had to get shots on Tuesday. So he has been feeling drowsy and hasn't had much of an appetite since then. He has also almost doubled his birth weight and weighs almost 13 pounds now. He is 23 inches long and in the 41st percentile.
Yesterday at breakfast I was whistling a song to Kailee and she said to me, "Don't Mommy! Stop! You need to be a big girl!"
We still haven't progressed much with the potty training. For the last two weeks we have had her potty chair in my closet, because she loves to hang out in there. And when she goes potty she gets to choose some of my jewelry to wear. Yesterday we were in a hurry so I put her on the big potty to go. She was taking forever and my ankles and knees were killing me so I let go of her for just a minute to reposition myself and she fell right into the toilet. She thought that was pretty funny.
I have just accepted that she is going to be one of those kids who takes a little longer to potty train. I told Kody that I should have potty trained her before she got super smart and learned how to sass me.
