In Loving Memory

Dear Kailee,

This is your Uncle Ty:

He passed away on your very first Easter.

We miss him so much and it breaks our hearts that you won't remember him when you grow up. He loved you very very much.

Before you were born Mommy had a vision for your nursery. It was a little complicated for Daddy to carry out on his own, so Uncle Ty jumped right in and offered his help. He and Daddy spent a whole day learning about wainscoting.

After a lot of hard work your room turned out perfect. Uncle Tyler helped make your world a more beautiful place to be.

We were last with him three weeks ago when he married your Aunt Sarah and you got three new cousins.

Here we are at his wedding. You were so cranky that day.

I am so glad that you were able to spend some time with him on his wedding day before we left. I needed to go move our car so we could load up the extra food from the reception in it, so I handed you off to Uncle Ty. He held you and talked to you and walked around while you pointed at things and babbled to him. Just you and Tyler.

He always called you his princess and said he couldn't wait for the day when he could spoil you and buy your love with presents. But you didn't need any of that. You would have loved him for his big bear hugs.

I know you can sense that something is not right in our home right now, and that Mommy and Daddy are sad. Things are going to be different for a while, but we still love you more than anything. We lost one of our very best friends and we are devastated. Nothing will bring him back and the best we can do is make sure you know what a great man he was. He was the best big brother to your Daddy and he was Mommy's friend. He never judged us, was always willing to help us with anything, and was one of the happiest people we have ever known.

Although you won't be able to see him, we know he will always be watching out for you and that he will always love you.

Love,

Mommy & Daddy
