One of my favorite things about my job is bank holidays. They are great. So I didn't have to work Veteran's Day. Kody did have to work, which is strange because he works at a bank too, but too bad for him. He got Good Friday off and I didn't. Anyway, I went to Michael's to get a few things for some Christmas presents we are making for Kody's family. As it turns out, they were having a huge sale on their Autumn stuff. I have really been needing a new flower arrangement for our living room because pink and orange lillies are just too bright and springy for this time of year. So I got some really pretty fall flowers for 70% off. I ended up spending about $20 on all of them. Then I went to Tai Pan and got a really pretty vase for about $15, which I was very excited about. Then I got to work and tried to put everything together and make it pretty. I guess it looks ok. Some things about it just aren't the way I pictured it in my head, but it will do for now.
So Veteran's Day was pretty fun. I girl I work with was saying that her mom is a veteran and she didn't get to take Veteran's Day off. I thought that was kind of sad and it made me feel guilty for getting the day off when I've never had to make that kind of sacrifice for our country. I really do appreciate the people who have fought for our freedoms and the soldiers who are now. I know that I take everything they do and have done for granted and I hope that I can be better at honoring them and remembering their sacrifices.
