We took the kids to see Santa yesterday during Kody's lunch break. Kailee was looking forward to it all morning. When we got to the mall we had to wait in line for a while to see him. Kailee could hardly wait and was talking and talking and talking- as usual. When she finally got to sit on Santa's lap she was suddenly speechless. She had recited her Christmas wishlist to me many times previously, but her tongue was suddenly tied up in knots and she just couldn't speak. In the end, she wished Santa a Merry Christmas, squeaked out something about wanting new princesses, and then we left.
We drove home and she fell asleep in the car. I put her right to bed when we got home and she slept for a few hours. When she woke up our conversation went something like this:
Me: Did you have a great time seeing Santa today?
Kailee: Yeah. I pooped on Santa.
Me: What?
Kailee: I just made tinkle peeps on his wap.
Me: Why?
Kailee: And he's gonna bring me new princesses and new mermaids and a new bedroom!
So I guess that explains the silent, awkward uncomfortable-ness that occured during our visit with Santa. Her attention was focused elsewhere.
