Kailee's Room

I forgot the pictures of Kailee's finished nursery in my last post. Here is how it turned out:

Her bedding turned out exactly the way I wanted it to. It is made of Minky so it's really really soft. I got her letter "K" for $4 at Kohl's, and the little giraffe figureine was her Aunt Cory's.

My mom made the curtains because I am awful at sewing and although Kody is pretty good at it I was sure he wouldn't be able to create the specific type of curtains I had envisioned. Needless to say, she did a great job. Kody's Grandma gave him some old bookshelves a few months ago and I had Kody paint one of them black to go with the furniture a little better in here. I found the pink baskets at Babies R Us for $7 each. I found the giraffe picture I wanted in poster form for $12. The two picture frames in her room I got for $40 at Hobby Lobby.

This changing pad is my final attempt at sewing. It may look fine now, but the backside is terrible. Please notice her wipe warmer- a gift from my Grandma Gilbert and Aunt Carol. Kailee now thoroughly enjoys her diaper changes.

Kody did a great job with the painting in this room- I think. He begged me not to make him change the color of the doors and the trim when he started painting the wainscoting, but luckily the color we already had went well with the pink stripes.

I finally got her closet organized so that her clothes are categorized in boxes according to size. Her stash of diapers is getting lower and lower- it used to be double the size it is in this picture!

Not bad for what we had to start with!
