They made posters for the shower about a week before it happened so that everyone would remember not to bring a lunch that day. Well, the posters were cute and all, but they were lacking a few important details. The top of the poster said "Baby Girl" because both myself and the other guy the shower was for are having girls. Makes sense, but they probably should have said "Baby GirlS." Reading on, the poster stated that all were invited to attend a baby shower for Jason and Sidney on May 7th. The first time I read it I knew exactly what people were going to think, and unfortunately I was right. NO, I am not having a baby with Jason from Trust Real Estate!!! So many rumors started there...
Anyway, we had a delicious luncheon:

And Kailee got TONS of presents:

She walked away with 3 homemade blankets, lots of cute little outfits, burp cloths, towels, bibs, and even a little piggy bank filled with cash.
The next day was a neighborhood shower in Marcia Atkinson's backyard. I forgot my camera so I didn't get any pictures of all the fun treats and people that were there but Kailee cleaned up pretty well at that shower too and ended up with 4 more blankets (3 handmade), lots more clothes, diapers, toys, books, and much more. I did, however, get a picture of her new carseat and stroller set from her Grandma Adams, Great-Grandma Gale, and Aunt Mary Lu:
I was glad that Diane and Grandma Gale could make it down for the neighborhood shower, even though they couldn't stay long.
So I'd say we are just about ready for her to get here now. We are definitely prepared after these showers! The doctor says Kailee is doing perfectly and everything should go just fine. She will be full term next week. She gets hiccups multiple times during the day and we asked the doctor about them. He said that hiccups are a sign of well-being so whenever she gets them we say she's happy. I was somewhat looking forward to putting my big belly to good use and being able to use it as a table or an arm rest, but Kailee does not like to have her feet touched and will kick and kick until whatever is resting on top of them moves or falls off. She loves to listen to music and she loves to hear her daddy's voice.
Here is a picture of my huge belly at about 35 1/2 weeks:
This picture makes me sad because I have never weighed so much in my life but hopefully it will all be over soon!
